The Hole
by Pyun Hye-young
This is a difficult book to review; I didn't particularly like it but I also didn't dislike it. The writing style was straight forward and easy to intake, but the whole premise and storyline made me feel claustrophobic essentially.
The entire story is from the point of view of a man who wakes up from a coma completely paralyzed. He reflects on his life as he lives out the next few months of his new reality, and it is straight up bleak. The Hole was the March choice of a virtual book club I've been reading along with and it was a fairly quick read; I finished it in an afternoon.
