A collection of short stories by Oscar Wilde. Essentially they are children's fairytales but although they appear very simple on one level, from an adult perspective you can go a little deeper to explore the symbolism and appreciate the satire and wit. Although they are moral tales, they don't come across as preachy. I found most of them quite sad although in an uplifting kind of way. The Happy Prince in particular broke my heart! The Remarkable Rocket, a quirky tale about talking fireworks, however, is full of Wilde's amusing one-liners. The stories are beautifully written with such tenderness and poignancy and they leave a lasting impression.
