My thoughts:

This was a really solid thriller! I read watch your back by this author last month, without knowing it was actually part of an interconnected standalone series following the same detective. Since i really enjoyed that one, i wanted to go back to the start and read the rest of the series. I think if i had to pick a favorite, watch your back would win slightly, but in general i highly recommend both these thrillers and i can’t wait to read the other one in the series. This had a great eerie winter setting and was more of a character-driven mystery. I like how we got both molly’s & rita’s pov so we were following a character that was impacted by the mystery but we were also following along with the investigation itself. I especially liked how thoroughly we got to see the investigation. It wasn’t just interviewing suspects but everything around it and a bit of the personal life of the detective as well.
