This is the 3rd book in the series, I liked it better than the 2nd book, but nowhere near as much as the 1st book, Fourth Wing. It does have pacing and timing issues, quests followed by all out war against the venin. Violet and Xaden still are in love /lust. But my favourite characters belong to the Dragon's Tairn and Andarna. It could have been done with further editing, but I do like the supporting human characters. I like the bonds between Dragon's and riders and parts are funny. I'll probably read the next book in the series as I'm sure the hype and the waiting will get to me. A mixed bag for me, I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either, so I'm secure in my fence sitting.
