Absolutely a very strong debut from Gwynne. The book struggled a little in the first couple hundred pages. It was still very enjoyable but the amount of character names and relationships to remember was a bit overwhelming and could have benefited from being streamlined a bit or spread out. After that though the quality continuously ramps up, the plot gets a lot more intriguing, and I'd give the last 400 pages 5 stars if I was only rating the quality of them alone.
