One of the Good Guys
by Araminta Hall
Just finished "One of the Good Guys" by Araminta Hall on loan from @libby.app.
Leaning toward a 4-star rating. This is a quick read - a mix of narratives involving heavy themes of women's right, sexual abuse, trauma and the social commentary that encompasses those themes. It is part of Gillian Flynn publishing group and that is apparent as there is a lot of "Gone Girl" energy in this book.
This is not a whodunnit mystery. It's an examination of the problematic and danger of self-proclaimed good guys. It shows that abuse, control and perspective are nuanced things.
It's definitely a discussion starter book. I can see why this book could be controversial to some. It gives you something to think about - thus what pushed my rating to a 4.
