I was eager to read this BC The Goldfinch by the same author is easily one of my favorite books. This book was intriguing, and if not so beautifully written, I’m not sure I would’ve enjoyed it. I love the way the author creates a story. I also love how I was guessing the whole way through. The only reason I’m not rating it 5 stars is because unlike The Goldfinch this book didn’t leave me inspired, puzzled or anything else. It was a bit mundane in that way but perhaps I’m not sophisticated enough to understand the deeper meaning behind the book, or maybe that’s the point- that there’s nothing more… anyway it was a thrilling read and kept me wondering the whole way.
