Ledge by Grey Huffington
4.5
I have not seen agoraphobia in a form of storytelling/media since Shameless. This story did a beautiful job of navigating the complexity of agoraphobia and how that plays a role in an intimate relationship. Halo struggled and Ledge was an incredible and patient partner. He only stood his ground when Halo unfairly took her frustrations out on him and made it clear he was there to support her but there were boundaries she needed to work with. I was nervous to see how that would play out but I think it worked for Halo’s mental health and actually pushed her to pursue help from those around her and professionals. I do think the ending was a bit rushed but I did enjoy this book overall and look forward to reading about more of the side characters.
