thoughts (i’m too lazy to make them comprehensive):

- specific type of quick read, romance tropes and characterization that feels very booktok to me

- reminds me of babel if babel had a lot less to say but wanted you to think it’s saying a lot more, pseudo intellectual

- once i got into it was pretty quick and engaging

- am interested by the twist villain but kind of hate it and wish there hadn’t been a major twist in the last twenty pages

listened to 20% as audiobook in april 2023, restarted as book in jan 2024 and finished
