I'll Kiss You Twice by W. Winters
3.0
I had a hard time with this addition to the series. The first book held my interest. But this one the main characters insecurities drove me crazy.
Declan let’s his brothers and others sway him into believing that Braelynn is working with police to bring the family down. In the first book it seems like Declan is a better judge of character, but no he is easily swayed. This leads to him allowing Braelynn to be tortured for information. And treating her like a suspect/ informant for most of the book.
Braelynn suffering from PTSD becomes in a sense a sex slave. She isn’t allowed to leave the house or Declan’s wing of the property. He sleeps with her when he pleases. But she isn’t allowed to contact her mom. Braelynn has to cope with seeing a murder and being tortured and seeing some of the tormentors on a regular basis.
It just seemed that it was the same ideas being repeated the whole book, with very little progression. I am really hoping book 3 redeems Declan, or at least gives some sort of closure to this couple even if it isn’t a HEA.
I received a free copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.
