The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett
4.0

This is very good, I'm predisposed to silly pulpy noir books but I still think it's very good. The absolute lack of interiority is so interesting and I love a good little series of revelations & calculations & machinations. This voice guy was not as good as James Mason (sorry - though his Cairo is a great Peter Lorre impression, so there is that) but I think the key to make me enjoy an audiobook is have it be of a film that I like so as I listen I can hold Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor and Sydney Greenstreet up in my head and rotate them slowly like they are on a shawarma grill. Truly savouring & enjoying my blorbos like a fine rotisserie chicken
