This was one of my most highly anticipated 2024 releases and.. John Marrs has done it again 🙌🏽👏🏽 I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it.. Marrs is the KING of thrillers and can do no wrong. I will read anything he writes.

Compelling, disturbing, tense + completely bingeable, this twisted tale of deception had the trademark short, snappy chapters + was full of red herrings and dark twists and turns. I finished this in A DAY. It’s been a long time since I’ve read anything in just one sitting + that’s credit to Marrs’ writing, especially as this wasn’t as fast-paced as his speculative thrillers.

If you think you’ve figured this plot out.. you’re wrong. My jaw dropped as the first big twist revealed at the end of part one. I did NOT see that coming! The anxiety + frustration is palpable as you sympathise with one character, knowing something is off about the other but nobody believing them.. but nothing is at it seems in this disturbing and chilling tale.

Lastly, and most importantly.. THE DEDICATION FOR OSCAR 😭🥹
