A Pulitzer-prizing winning book. I am even more impressed by the author, her background, and the gravitas you might expect of the first US female author to win the Nobel Prize in literature. Her writing style was refreshing to me: very realistic, straightforward, and with simple language. It packs a lot in short well, structured sentences, which at times felt more like poetry. It’s written from an outsider's perspective, one of those stories great for telling sitting by the fire on a lazy weekend.
