The Prince of Prohibition by Marilyn Marks

4.0

This was a great story that had so many twists!! It started a little slow, but there was so much story to tell! The author didn't leave out anything! We meet Addie as a child and follow her throughout her childhood up until she's 20 years old and moves to New York from Georgia. As much as she struggled being different in her small farm town, she struggles to adjust to the big city life. After being called evil her entire life for seeing things no one else can, you'd think she'd be relieved to find out it's all real, but that's an even bigger adjustment for her. She has to grow internally and accept that different isn't always bad or evil. I loved Jack and how obsessed he was with her! He handles her so delicately, afraid to overwhelm her. But I loved how Addie transforms from this timid farm girl into a woman who "isn't a damsel in distress" and can save herself! I can't wait for the next book!!
