Radio Silence
by Alice Oseman
Despite getting off to a rocky start with this book (I was worried it had big “I’m not like other girls” energy) I ended up vibing with it in the end. Although at times I was frustrated with Aled’s lack of communication, I also understand that he was dealing with a lot of stuff. I think this talks about something very important: that not everyone is destined to go to nor needs to attend university to live successful or happy lives. It’s a false narrative that ultimately pushes some kids into a place they simply won’t find happiness. It gave me a lot of the teenage feels, which was fun. Not all YA manages to accomplish that!
