I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
challenging
emotional
informative
reflective
medium-paced
4.0
honestly, I think this is one of the best celebrity memoirs that I have read - especially in terms of depth and amount of information (and for someone so young)
only downside is that she spends a lotttt of time talking about her eating disorder(s) as well as a few chapters talking about dubious consent situations (I had to skip those personally) in a lot of depth, to the point that this memoir could be dangerous or uncomfortable for some readers - which isn't entirely a bad thing, it just should be known
with my last point though, she does spend time talking about her recovery and therapy journey in ways that I think could be helpful to those dealing with similar things
overall would recommend (as long as you are aware of the trigger warnings), either if you are interested in what McCurdy has to say or if you like memoirs in general
