Excellent writing as usual, and the narrator (audiobook) was great, but the slightly slow Birmingham accent emphasised the lack of pace of the entire book - nothing happens until the last 10%! I was hoping for something a little more mysterious or gothic, but this isn’t it. Perhaps it would make a better read than a listen.
