Good Points:
Colleen Houck is a mythology genius.
Don’t believe me, give this book a read then! Because from the start of the first page to the very end, I was hooked. I was doomed and I was riding the adventure along with Lily. It was up and down, all over the place. It was wonderful and downright scary in some parts. Even Amon made me mad. I wanted to throw this book against the wall to just get my point across to his stubbornness! But then finally, I was happy and then I was angry. My emotions were on a roller-coaster! It was so much and so little at the same time. I have to give Lily credit for sticking through everything. I don’t know if I would have been as strong as her, even for a hot sexy sun god. *giggles*
Colleen Houck is amazing with her mythology. She really understands the past but also how to get her readers to be there along with the main characters. I was breathless, sad, scared, and madly in love. I love myths, so her take on Egypt was just, more words then I know what to put. I have read her tiger series and I was a little scared to start something new from her but I wasn’t disappointed. It felt as real to me as if I was there, fighting Seth; the god of chaos.
Bad Points:
It is an adventure, so it feels rushed in some parts of the book. But I also understand why. After all, they don’t have long until chaos is free. So it speeds up and you might feel overwhelmed. But it was still fun. *laughs* Its like riding a ride but without the belt. >.<
I honestly thought for a while that it was going to be done. Like that’s it. As I was reading, I thought there couldn’t be any more books, right?! Until the very end, two pages to the last page, I was hanging off my set; biting my lip, saying over and over again. It can’t end, it just can’t! They just started! So you might end up throwing the book. I did. *laughs*
It however, isn’t the last book and thank god for that because I might have too send the author a very unhappy letter. >.<
Overall:
If you have read her tiger series, then you’re going to LOVE this new series of hers. And if you’re a new reader, this books has magic, fantasy, amazing mythology and blooming romance. Pick it up and give it a try, you won’t be sorry.
