On the Road
by Jack Kerouac
I once read this book to impress a boy I had a raging crush on at the wise old age of thirteen years old. Well, reader, it’s been nearly a decade since that time, and I’m popping around to say that this book is still the most abhorrent piece of literary nonsense I have ever read. In the probably somewhat paraphrased words of the great Paris Gellar, “edit, Jack Kerouac, edit.” This book, that is actually just one solid brick wearing a somewhat-okay book disguise, took me over a year to read because it is hot garbled trash. I’m convinced it’s the calling card for disappointing straight men—if they enjoyed this book, r u n from the date you’re on. 0/10 stars, big skip.
