I can't decide whether to rate this book 3.5 or 4. It wasn't really what I was expecting - it was more of a romance than a fantasy - but even though I was more in the mood for magic and the fantastical, I enjoyed it. I love the concept of binding and binder's fever and was really rooting for Emmett. I don't want to give too much away, because I think the mystery and not knowing where it's going is what made it fun to read, particularly because it's quite slow paced.

I really wish we'd got more time with Seredith as I really loved her character. She was my favourite - tough on the outside, but you know she's got a heart of gold. You know she loved Emmett. I also kind of wish she *had* been a witch! I'd love to read more books about the concept of binding. I feel like this book could have gone anywhere after Emmett got to Seredith's and I was really quite surprised when she died and everything seemed to go off in a totally different direction. Still, Collins kept me on my toes and I enjoyed where the book ended up, even if it wasn't what I set out to read!
