International Perspectives in Feminist Ecocriticism by Serpil Oppermann, Greta Gaard, Simon C. Estok

3.0

Unfortunately, this book did not meet my expectations.

I expected this book to be more like essays diving into ecofeminism rather than a compilation of literary analysis essays. While some essays were more of what I was looking for (the looking at ecofeminism as a theory and positing new ideas/information), most were not. As someone who's been studying feminism, this book didn't go as far as I expected it to go and didn't give me new insight for the most part (some articles did, but those were far and few between). I wanted more dialogue on what ecofeminsm is, more vocabulary to add to my arsenal, and generally a better modern-day grasp on where the movement is going.
