Started well, but fizzled out before the halfway point, really. The overarching plot to do with the wards and the Guardians, which has potential, but it's stretched too thin and there's a lot of inconsistency in the characterisation. Might try book 2 but honestly, this was pretty forgettable so I might not remember to pick it up given the number of other series I'm reading and am invested in.
