Love at First Knight by Megan Clawson

5.0

This book signifies everything I dream for in a book and delivers the satisfaction and butterflies in my stomach that I have not experienced in such a miserably long time.

I understood Daisy, her loneliness, her desire to do something and be someone particularly for her little sister to have as a role model. She lost her closeness with her sister and also lost her confidence in venturing too far outside without her family. I’ve been there. For me it was a bit of a forced situation whereas for her it stemmed from some anxiety.

The best thing about this book is the love story and the enemies to lovers storyline. I loved the wit, the banter and the fantasy/royalty storyline. I liked the dialogue. It wasn’t simple, or too boringly modern, there was politeness, admiration, chilvary, charm, mutual respect.

When it comes to my books, in recent years, because I have so little physical space at the moment (1 bedroom in my parent’s house), I vet books for their suitability to be permanently kept in my library. I read the book and 9/10 times, I remove the book from my life. With this book, even before midway, I knew this was going to be kept. I had the satisfaction of stamping it with my name. The first book to be stamped so far!
