I'm going to give it one star because it's well-written as Wilson's books tend to be, and another star for bringing together all sorts of theories and personalities.
However, on the actual merit of this work as anything but fiction, it's woefully inadequate. It's clear Wilson desperately wanted to believe in what these guys were selling and put no effort into debunking their claims.
An easy example would be the Piri Reis map. Wilson wants us to believe based on Hapgood's work that this map shows Antarctica. What he doesn't mention at any point is that Piri Reis' map comes with notes, and the notes next to the landmass he suggests is Antarctica clearly specify this is a land that was recently visited and mapped by the Portuguese. It was the continuation of the south American coast down to the bottom, not a map of new continent, something so easy to see just by looking at the map with your own eyes that you in no way need to be an astute historian or cartographer to see that what he's presenting here as fact is pure bullshit.
