This is a dark mystery adventure in which no woman seeks the help of a man at any point. There is no big strong man waiting to save the frail woman who has been disenfranchised or kidnapped. The women are the things in the dark. I loved every literary aspect of this story. At some point the writing is so well done and descriptive it truly feels like you're standing in it. This book delves into the deep connection between sisters, family, friends and truly explores the complexities of the phrase, "the blood of the Covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." A sad twisted tail of loss, grief, and questioning how well you really know the people you hold closest. Could not stop reading.
