I honestly don't know how to rate this book. I just finished and am still reeling. I'll come back when I've had some more time to reflect, but I plan on reading the rest of the trilogy when I recover from this.
I *really* wish I had read the content warnings. It's fucking heavy. If you're at all familiar with the history of the second sino-japanese war, you'll have an idea of what you're getting in to. It's brutal. And really well written. Have something fun lined up after you finish this one
