I’m glad I didn’t come across this book/TV show when I was more impressionable, because I probably would have made it my entire personality. Now, being in my mid-20s, I can definitely see how problematic the concept is. Look, it is an interesting idea and if the message was more “suicide is not the answer” and less “suicide is the way to get revenge”, then I would be all for it.
