Thin Air by Richard K. Morgan
5.0
This is not a review. This is a love letter to Mr. Morgan and this book. Reading this one was like waiting for water for years and then finding the ocean. I'll be frank, I was disappointed with Mr. Morgan's foray into fantasy, but with this book, he has redeemed himself ten times over. He can write grocery store lists for the next ten years and I'd have no complaints. Thin Air is a study in violence written in a mad amalgamation of poetry, mystery, hard-boiled noir, hardcore sex, and it leaves a gritty taste in your mouth. But the wonderful part is that you want more.
I was so vested in reading this book that I did not want it to finish and as I neared the end of this book, I was sad that it was going to be over. I delayed it as much as I could, even read a book in the middle of reading this one.
What is the story about? you might ask. Does it matter? Read it like a poem and derive your own meaning from this. If you like science-fiction, futuristic fiction, mad poetry, and detective fiction, you owe it to yourself to read this one.
I am definitely going for a re-read.
