I listened to this book in two days. It was incredibly well written, beautiful, and heartbreaking. The message is constructed in a very realistically hopeful way, not sugar coating anything but also saying we can make progress and we shouldn’t give up.

Content Warnings

Moderate: Sexual assault and Rape

This is obviously a book about rape so it’s discussed throughout. However the only detailed descriptions are of the examination the next morning. It’s upsetting, but not in the way that graphic fictional rape scenes are. I would say unless you are especially sensitive to the topic it’s not a reason to shy away from this book.
