Orphan X by Gregg Hurwitz

5.0

Jason Bourne for the 21st Century. Orphan X tells the story of Evan Smoak, a child plucked from the streets of Baltimore and put in the Orphan program - a black budget, black ops program that trains agents assassinate enemies of the state. No one knows about this program except the Orphans, who don't know each other, and their handlers.

Evan, Orphan X, has left the program and dedicates himself to helping people in trouble who no where else to turn. He helps a girl and her sister escape a sinister LA cop. Then the trouble begins. Add to the mix, his nosey neighbors and you get a high octane thriller.

I loved this book. It was full of unexpected plot twists and action. The back cover flap said that it was being adapted for the big screen by the author for a big studio and Bradley Cooper. I can see Bradley Cooper as Evan. I can see this book as a movie. But the movie will have to work hard to live up to Gregg Hurwitz' fabulous writing.

I won this book from Goodreads and received no other compensation for my review. The opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.
