Bitten by Kelley Armstrong
4.0

The story drew me in and I must admit the romantic elements entertained me more than I expected. (Supernatural romance may be moving into the guilty pleasure category for me). I also liked how the werewolves work in this universe and how well Armstrong describes the difficulty of the “wolf mind” understanding human speech. The premise of Elayna as the only female wolf proposes some interesting tension and plot options. While the book shows a lot of shape-shifting, there isn’t a lot of magic otherwise. That said, this is the first book in the series, so there’s room for more magic to come into play. I know I'm intrigued enough to read the next book in the series to find out.
