The British Knight by Louise Bay

4.0

A straight-up romance, the dramatic tension in the novel comes from the emotional development of the MCs and their relationship. Normally, not enough action for my taste, but the characters are well drawn, multi-layered and interesting. The growth in the relationship makes sense, and the occasional bad choice is consistent with the characters. At times LOL funny and others super steamy, this is a great light read for a cold winters night. Only at the end did it falter a little -- the final conflict between the 2 MCs seemed a bit manufactured. But, Ms. Bay pulled it out at the end with a satisfying and not sentimental HEA.
