Graveyard Shift by M.L. Rio
1.0
mysterious fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

In my opinion, Rio always bites off more than she can chew with her cast of characters. This was present in If We Were Villains and even more so in Graveyard Shift. You just can't give every character the fleshing out that they deserve when you choose to have five or six of them.

The plot of this Novella is extremely interesting, yet chooses to do almost nothing with it, instead focusing on flimsy characters who all read as the exact same person. The ending is just that; an ending. No explanation, no lead-up, we just end the story. As a full length novel, I feel this could have been much more compelling. As a novella... not so much.
