King Lear by William Shakespeare

4.0

There is tragedy and TRAGEDY and this one does not leave much for warm, happy feelings that’s for sure! That being said, I loved it and would recommend to anyone.

This is not going to be a good review because I have no idea what to say. I love the almost nihilistic aspect of it. I love that it starts directly into the action. I love that most of the characters are extreme, and Lear’s character development. Love the devotion, the manipulations, the sacrifice, the injustice, the madness, the grief and sorrow. I love that this is about loss, of love, of status, of power, and of sight. Come to think of it, I could have lived without that last one, it was brutal.

Still, it was brilliant, this is my second Shakespeare play, I'm so glad I've read it and you should read it too! (and if you already have, it's time for a another one!)
