Radio Silence
by Alice Oseman
As a recently graduated high school senior, this was the perfect book to read. I recommend it for anyone who may be questioning their purpose and future.
I’ll admit, this did have a little bit of a slow start and I wasn’t sure if I was even going to like the rest of the book about half way through, but I slowly found my self falling more and more in love with the characters.
Alice Oseman is one of the few authors that I’ve read that can accurately write teenagers, which made reading about Frances and Aled so wonderful, I could see myself in them. Their challenges and thoughts and actions all are so realistic. Frances is such a well written protagonist and I’ve never seen so much of myself in a character. The other characters are not overshadowed though, Aled, Frances’ mom, Daniel, Raine, and Carys are all so beautifully written and the pacing of the whole story is perfect.
I have a feeling if I were to re-read this, I might give it five stars, but because I had a bit of a rough start with reading this, it’s four stars right now. I will definitely be reading this again though.
