overall, this was a great book series. this book was probably my least favorite of the series, and i am unsure of my thoughts for this one entirely. it was nice to read this book because we got the final resolution of the big mystery that had been happening throughout the whole series. i think what the answer was, was okay, but the ending it really what lowered the rating on this one for me and is what made it my least favorite. i love in a book when the main character is in danger but then everything turns out all right, so when cassie was kidnapped by the cult i was like omg this is gonna be tea! but then the resolution was so so quick and the book was over? like cassie is taken, they posion her and shes like about to die, one of the other cult members (PLOT REVEAL ITS THE HEAD OF THE FBI????) gives the antidote and she wakes up from being in a coma for 3 days. that all happened in like 6 pages? and then they throw her in the ring with her mom and shes like no i cant hurt you and then her mom comes back to reality and is like i cant hurt you either :( and then cassie is like dont worry my friends will come save us! and then mother dearest is like are you 100% sure and cassies says yessssss, then the mom makes cassie kill her and SOMEHOW her friends show up right after mother dies. then they make it out safe, the end. LIKE? UR TELLING ME ALL OF THE BUILD UP WE GOT JUST FOR THIS TO BE THE ENDING AND HAVE IT HAPPEN IN LIKE 20 PAGES? also was annoyed cause cassies cousin was just killed right before cassie was taken and then at the end of the book they are having a funeral for cassies mom with all of cassies family there and everyone is acting all chill like "finally we get to bury your mom frl" and im like okay so the cousin was killed just to advance the plot a few chapters ago and that was it. cassie lit tells her fam like yeah *insert cousin name* was killed by the same people that had my mom :( and her family is just like dam :( ugh that was annoying too. just was so dissappointing cause the rest of the book was good like we were getting a lot of good info about cassies life prior to the naturals program and we were figuring out slowly yk whodunnit, just for it to be a sloppy ending like this. okay rant over

overall i'm still happy with the whole series, and i just have the little novella which i think will be fun :)
