Duchess by Day, Mistress by Night by Stacy Reid
4.5
This is my third Stacy Reid book and I think it's my favourite one so far. Her stories are always addicting even if her characters aren't always lovable. In this case, I was surprised by how much I loved Rhys. To be honest, he's not a typical hero. I might even go so far as to label him an anti-hero? Kind of? He is so loyal and dedicated to the people that he loves. I absolutely love how much he loves and protects his mother and three sisters. His lovable side came out through his interactions with his sisters. That's what really made me start loving him. And when he fell in love with Georgiana? It was incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Rhys fall in love. It made me love him even more. He didn't shy away from his feelings. He had a hard time ascertaining them, but once he realized his love for Georgiana, there wasn't anything that could keep him from her.
Georgiana was a decent heroine. I did get mad her at a certain point in the story. She came across as harsh and dumb. But she eventually came to her senses. I loved the final chapter where she just threw everything to the wind and publicly showed her love for Rhys. It made up for what she had done to him.
Also, this book was HOT. Rhys and Georgiana had wonderful chemistry and their relationship developed at the perfect pace. I'm very excited to read the next book! I'm also hoping characters like Lydia, Simon, Riordan O'Malley, and Andrew get their own HEA.
Speculation:
I originally assumed there would be something between Lydia and Simon (Georgiana's brother), but the fact that she once threw dung at O'Malley just cracks me up lol. I hope she gets her own book! I'm thinking Andrew might find his HEA with that Felicity girl that Georgiana mentioned.
Edit:
YESSS!! Lydia and Riordan will get their HEA in Book 3!! I can't wait!!
