plumeriade 's review for:
Liar's Moon
by Elizabeth C. Bunce
So I really enjoyed this book while reading it. It's a fun murder mystery with lots of twists and turns. Some of the characters from the previous book return, and some great new characters are introduced (mainly Koya!!).
That said, there were some things that made me enjoy it less than the first book, so while I'd really rate it a 3.5, I can't bump it up to a 4. One of the strongest points in StarCrossed was for me the strong friendship between Celyn/Digger and Meri. There's no Meri in this book (besides a few letters), and while she develops a sort of friendship with Koya, it definitely doesn't fill that absence. Instead it's replaced by her visits with and eventual romance with a guy, sigh. Also, I get a little frustrated whenever there are plenty of gay male characters (four, explicitly) but not a single queer woman. WHERE ARE THE LESBIANS. I'm going to pretend Eske is a lesbian, she seems the type.
However I still love the overall story and I'll read the third book whenever it comes!
