The Black Box by Michael Connelly
4.0

This book had me hooked in the beginning and was going great, but for the ending which had over-the-top action.
I was too immersed in the book, when Bosch started piecing together the evidences methodically. I love the police procedural and investigative techniques he uses.
I liked Maddie in this book (she had irritated me in 'The 9 dragons") . Though she is only 16, Bosch has now started grooming her to be a police officer.

What I didn't like, was his Superior's unwarranted meddling into Bosch's case. This is a recurring plot line in most of the series where Bosch and his superiors are at loggerheads. This doesn't help the plot in anyway and completely unnecessary.
After reading a few Haller books, I find Bosch a bit dull. His decision to go after the suspects alone in the end was foolish. All the action that followed was unbelievable.

Though my review is less than enthusiastic, I would still recommend this to all Michael Connelly fans. He just knows how to write and keeps the reader engaged.
