Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy
4.0

Maeve Binchy is a real beautiful storyteller, She can weave a tale like no one else can, However this book was way to long, 700 pages is just way too long.

In this engaging tale, Binchy introduces us to the enduring friendship between Eve and Bennie, which dates back to their childhood days. The story follows their journey through college, shedding light on Eve's challenging upbringing as the daughter of a wealthy but estranged family in a small town. Despite facing rejection from her relatives following her parents' passing, Eve finds solace and guidance under the care of the town's nuns. Meanwhile, Bennie, the daughter of a local shop owner, is described as a robust young woman with striking chestnut hair.

The heart of the story lies in the bond between Eve and Bennie, around which a circle of friends forms during their college years, some of whom meet tragic fates. Overall, this book offers a compelling narrative that delves into themes of friendship, resilience, and personal growth, making it a highly enjoyable read.
