I have held off on reviewing all of these books because I never really knew how to put into words how I felt about them. But this world is compelling, if completely illogical. It's a scary prediction of what our futures could become well sooner than we may expect. Since all the books are written with two first-person protagonists, both of whom are too young to really understand the intricacies that make the world they live in make any sense, they do create a really immersive experience. With all the twists and turns in the story that just simply don't make sense until you get further on, it's easy to get frustrated, but I think that's the beauty of the series. You are experiencing everything with the protagonists, and nothing is ever entirely what it seems. And then there was the end of this book - non-stop action that never felt contrived, and I FINALLY understood the emotionzzzzz that I think I was meant to be feeling throughout the entire series. Regardless, this is a quality YA series, with a lot of adventure that is very easy to get lost in reading.
