The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang

5.0

This is undeniably adorable and heart touching. I will recommend this to nearly anyone.

I read some of the lower rated reviews before writing my own. I get where they come from, because I too would loooove to see more time given to the relationship building. If this was another 50 pages I wouldn't even mind.

But as it is right now, dialogue included, makes it perfect for young readers to understand and will carry through to the older readers like myself. It is simple and yet so sweet and charming. I love the characters and the twist at the end was just the greatest thing, really. 100% character growth right there on the King. So don't tell me there was no growth whatsoever.

Plus, it's exciting to see this subject line breached in such an accessible format (comic) that can entertain and draw up compassion from younger audiences. I full heartedly believe that this can be such a wonderful learning tool to lightly introduce the concepts of gender fluidity and cross dressing. This alone makes me proud of it.

Overall, it's an all around feel good read.
