Factotum
by D.M. Cornish
2,5 rounded up.
Phew.
In this third and final part of the Monster Blood Tattoo trilogy Rossamünd has entered service as factotum to the fulgar/monster hunter Europe to escape the accusations pointed his way in Lamplighter.
The world of the Half-Continent is a rich and intricate one, and to be honest it's too easy to get lost in all the details since they are so many. I would have murdered for a separate and complete glossary seeing as it's been a few years since I read book two, and I'm the kind of person who will refuse to sit with all three books and a dictionary just to figure out the language. Pair that with the 250 or so pages in the middle of the book that seemingly hold no purpose whatsoever to the plot.
Can't help but be disappointed.
