Most people seem to love this book so maybe it’s just me but I found it annoying on so many levels. I didn’t find any of the characters likable except in rare moments. The plot was clever but incredibly convoluted. The back and forth between the real world and fairy tale world did not do much for me and I found the fairy tale passages boring. The author’s…style? Device? of repeating certain phrases was beyond annoying. I get it…she’s almost eight and has a Gryffindor scarf….
There’s something out there for everyone but this just wasn’t for me.
