This third installment in the Blood & Ash series picks up right where A Kingdom of Flesh & Fire left off. Poppy has learned that the blood of the king of gods flows through her veins, & as a result, she is now the rightful queen of Atlantia. But it is a burden she is unsure she wants.
Overall, The Crown of Gilded Bones is a decent book, but it fails to live up to the previous two books in the series. It suffers from pacing & plot issues, as well as writing that comes across as amateurish at times. It does, however, answer a lot of the questions that we were left with after A Kingdom of Flesh & Fire, so for that alone, it is worth reading.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
