Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
5.0

Synopsis: The second book is in the Six of Crows duology. This book is about six 'criminals' that go in a totally insane trip to save someone that is in a highly guarded prison for money. Well, after they were able to finish the assignment the man gave them this assignment, the man backstabs them. With this second book, its about these six characters trying to get back at the man that made a fool of them. Throughout this book, these characters went through every single thing possible. Everything is turned when the city in which most of the characters are from turns there back on them.

Writing Style: The first book I've read by Leigh Bardugo was Six of Crows, and I absolutely loved it. I was never interested in the Grisha trilogy, but Six of Crows caught my eye instantly with the cover and the summary. After a few chapters, I was hooked and couldn't keep the book down. Well, with any high fantasy book it takes a long while to get into it. A high fantasy novel requires a reader to have patience and a good mind in getting into the novel. But, Bardugo has a way in capturing the readers for a great high fantasy books. This duology had a great story with six beautifully written characters that I instantly adored each and every one of them.

Characters: Usually with multiple character point of views, I choose my favorite and can catch myself only wanting to read that persons pov. But this one, I couldn't actually pick a favorite and stick with that one. I absolutely loved every single one of this characters and I was always found myself excited to read each and every chapter. I found a little of myself in each character and couldn't resist falling in love with Kaz, Inez, Matthias, Nina, Jesper and Wylan. These characters are amazing and I am sure every reader will connect with them. And wait until you see this character buildup throughout these two books because it's one of the best character buildups in all the books that I have read.

Opinion: If you want a high fantasy duology that will capture you with every twist and turn that a series can throw at you. Then, this Six of Crows duology is completely for you. Yes, I know some people may not have liked this series but everyone has to understand that this is in the high fantasy novel. Meaning it is a whole different world that you would need to understand and get into so it could take some time. If you are not a patient person or if you don't have the mind set that you need for these novels then this series will not be for you until you have gotten into the high fantasy genre itself. Also, look at the sides of this book and its so pretty! Other than that, this is an amazing series that I would recommend to any young adult reader. So, please enjoy.
