I started reading this book not expecting to like it this much! I was sucked in from the very beginning and I just couldn't stop reading. I have no idea if I devoured this book because of how invested I was in the story and characters, or because it was so easy to read, or a mix of both.
Anyway, I loved every single moment of me reading this book. It gave me the amount of angst I was in the mood for, but also the kind of cute romance I was looking for. Millie and Ford were perfect for each other and I was rooting for them all the time. Although Millie's insecurities granted on my nerves a bit, but thankfully her stubbornness didn't stand a chance with Ford.
There were some things which I would have liked to read more about, like an interaction between Millie and her sister, and not just simply imagine their relationship based on Millie's thoughts.
Ford interacting with his daughter was so cute. It made my heart ache a little when he thought he wasn't a good enough job with Joey.
By the time I read the epilogue, I realized I wanted to read more about Millie and Ford's life together. I am so obsessed with them!
Seriously, loving this book took me completely by surprise, the good kind, and I wish I could stay a bit more with these characters.
I think everything was well balanced, the angst, the romance, the sport aspect of the story, everything. For me, it was perfection!
If you're looking for a second chance sports romance, a single dad, and a best friends to lovers, then this one is for you!
