[2025 review:] i reread this book in the span of 24 hours while on a plane (worst airport experience of my life, let's not get into it,) and wow was I pleasantly surprised by fourth wing! i remember loving this book, don't get me wrong, but I forgot how bingeable the writing style was and how easy it is to get absorbed and lost in the world of Basgiath. are there issues with this book? yes absolutely. some problems were solved a tad too quickly, some small repetition, etc. but five stars is a feeling, and I stand by my original rating even with the reread. i am shocked at the fast-paced-ness of this, nothing felt like it dragged on too long, which is a problem many fantasy authors suffer from in my opinion, and overall I cannot wait for onyx storm in a few weeks. (p.s. do I reread iron flame too? we'll see what happens lol).
