Home Before Dark by Riley Sager

5.0

This book was definitely one of my top reads of the summer!

I purchased an early release copy of this book from Book of the Month Club and was excited to get started before its scheduled release on June 30.

Hoping to get my mind off of the goings-on of 2020, I dove right in and was immediately taken by the story/stories in the book.

I am not usually too thrilled by ghost stories, as they're either too scary or hard to believe. This ranked in the middle for me and balanced the thriller/mystery/ghost elements perfectly. I also really enjoyed the Scooby-Doo-esque element of the book's ending.

I also love that Riley Sager took readers through both the story of Maggie's father and her own and provides readers with actual chapters from the Book that her father wrote and that the story is based on.

I have never read a book by Riley Sager before and will now be immediately picking up Lock Every Door, Final Girls, and The Last Time I Lied.

This book earned a 5/5 for keeping me captivated each step of the way!
