This book made my heart hurt in so many ways, and I will be thinking about it for ages!
The biggest and most prominent: I wanted to cry and be so jealous of Noelle for having such a near and dear relationship with her grandmother. Much to my chagrin, I don’t have contact with my still-earth side grandparents, so getting to hear how close she and her Gram were had me in tears already. And seeing how her pseudo-grandfatherly relationship with Paul formed, I would cling onto that as close as I can.
Theo and Noelle had such good banter, and I am a rivals-to-lovers fiend, and this was textbook rivals-to-lovers! From glimpses of their high school rivalry to gushing their emotions out to the salacious make outs and late-night escapades, I was kicking giggling my feet!!!
And the actual trip? My dream date!!!! Getting to explore such scenic places and sites and hikes all-the-while documenting it both on social media and photography? If I could be any book character, I would want to be Noelle simply for the dream career (Theo would be a bonus, obvi)! It’s clear that Noelle and Paul’s friendship formed both from their reminiscing of Kathleen as well as photography, and I loved that Jessica added small details like Paul’s camera model and aperture/shutter speeds/etc.!!!
I already want to reread, but I know my heart needs a little time to recharge and be happy again before it’s ripped out and put back together from this book :)
